How it works
JobInsights does three things: it finds postings, it reviews them against what you have confirmed about yourself, and it helps you keep track of your applications. Here is each part in plain language.
1. Postings
JobInsights collects job postings that employers publish publicly, from their careers pages and from the public feeds of the hiring systems they use. It checks regularly whether each posting is still open, and marks a role closed when the employer takes it down.
When JobInsights opens to more users, they will see postings only from sources cleared for that use. A posting's text belongs to the employer; JobInsights doesn't guarantee that it is accurate, complete or still current, so always check the employer's own page before you apply.
2. Your evidence
When you bring your resume, JobInsights turns each line into a fact about your experience: what you did, where, and at what scale. Years of experience are counted from the dates of your roles.
You confirm each fact, edit it or remove it. Only confirmed facts ever count in a score. When a review finds a requirement a single question could settle, it asks you; your answer stays unconfirmed until you confirm it.
3. The review
A review reads a posting the way a careful recruiter would, one requirement at a time:
- Requirements. It lists what the posting asks for, and whether each is required or a nice-to-have.
- Credit. It checks each requirement against your confirmed evidence and gives full, partial or no credit, citing the fact it relied on.
- Gates. Some requirements can't be traded off, such as a licence, a security clearance, a required language or a number of years in a regulated field. If you don't meet a gate, the score is capped, however well the rest matches.
- Verdict. The result is a score and a verdict: Strong match, Good match, Stretch or Not a fit. A simple keyword match is shown next to it for reference only.
- Gaps and questions. It shows what's missing, and which gaps a yes to one question could close, with the difference that answer would make.
Location and office attendance never enter a score. They are shown so you can decide for yourself.
4. What the AI does, and what it doesn't
It does
- Read postings and list their requirements.
- Judge each requirement against your confirmed evidence, and say why.
- Suggest questions that could close a gap, and write short notes on a role.
It doesn't
- Apply for you, or contact an employer or a recruiter.
- Change your evidence: you confirm every fact yourself.
- Score a role on where it is or how many office days it asks for.
- Give career, legal or hiring advice. It can be wrong; check what matters.
More on this in the AI notice.
5. Your pipeline
Save the roles you want, log when you apply, every interview and the outcome, and see what needs a follow-up. Your pipeline is yours alone, and nothing you log there changes a score or a verdict.
6. With Claude (optional)
Beta users can connect JobInsights to their own Claude account. In a chat you can ask whether a role is already in JobInsights, add a posting you found, record your own analysis next to the JobInsights score, and log an application. A chat never changes a JobInsights score, and any fact it suggests about you waits for your confirmation in the app.
